| About Eddie's Quilting Bee |
Quilting fabric and sewing machines have been the main focus at Eddie’s Quilting Bee in the San Jose area. Currently located in Sunnyvale, having moved from Mountain View, “The Quilting Bee” originated in Los Altos by Diana Leone, Eddie’s mother. Today, he continues to carry the finest sewing and quilting products with superior customer service and support.
Diana Leone cultivated the business with select fabric, classes and by writing and publishing a basic quilting book, The Sampler Quilt. She was also raising two sons, Eddie and Joey, with her husband Ed. Joe went to work at Ed Sr's underground construction business and ironically Eddie began working for Diana in 1992 when she needed help moving and building a new store in Mountain View, California. After 18 years of growth and success with the Quilting Bee, she decided to retire. It was then that Eddie decided to continue the family enterprise by purchasing the store from his mother. The name was changed and the business was also incorporated.
Eddie's Quilting Bee continues to supply sewers, embroiderers and quilters with a fantastic variety of fabric, sewing notions, thread, classes, furniture, sergers, sewing and embroidery machines. Diana is still on call as Eddie's consultant, but continues another passion in her retirement by designing fabric lines. Eddie Leone Jr. works full time in the store assisting many loyal customers. Currently 38,000 customers are sent the tri-annual newsletter which Eddie creates containing a multitude of quilting classes.
In September 2007, Eddie moved the flourishing quilt store to Sunnyvale. He also expanded on an already booming sewing side with his wife, Dawn, now doing business as 'Dawn's House of Sewing'. Now there are two beautiful stores under one roof.
His mother, Diana, is still doing well in her retirement, actively water color painting and staying at their condo often.

What Does EQB Mean to Me?
EQB is a tool that enables me (Eddie) to give you the best of everything.
Sometimes when I sell a sewing machine I ask my customer Why sell anything but the best? If you had your choice, what would you do? Therefore, I choose the best fabrics, the best brands of sewing machines, the best sewing supplies and tools, and luckily for all of us we have the best worker bees who have chosen EQB: plus not to be forgotten are our wonderful instructors and classes.
Here are twelve letters that we received after posing this question in our recent class schedule.
The message as you will read persists throughout: you-our customer continually return to EQB because of a helpful staff with a fully stocked store of quality merchandise.
As mentioned in the newsletter I am giving $100.00 to the person with the best letter and I am sure you can tell it wasn't easy to decide because they were all good. Being true to my word, I chose the one that was within the 100 words and concise. (Though Cathy Marlatt was a good runner up for 400 words or less category)
