Aurifil’s 100% Cotton 80wt/2ply thread is one of the newest members of the Aurifil family. Introduced in 2016, its luxurious colors are showcased on beautiful cherry wood spools. Such a thin thread is perfect for a variety of techniques, including English Paper Piecing, Hand Applique, Machine Embroidery, Machine Applique, Free Motion Quilting, Free Motion Couching, and more. Needle recommendations: 70/10 or 80/12 Microtex/Sharp or Embroidery Needle (80wt in the bobbin); #10 hand sewing needle. For hand sewing, use a short length of thread, around 12”-18” to reduce tangling and breaking.
